Little Changes

Happy New Year!

Guys, I’m not going to promise myself to eat clean twenty-four seven, to run every day, or to never think another negative thought. But I am going to promise myself to make small, incremental changes. Changes that are sustainable and palatable. Changes that I may struggle with a bit in the beginning but won’t make me want to rip my hair out.



Adding more nutrition into my day is one of the changes I’ll be implementing this year. More fiber, less sugar, more greens. The Super Elixir and the Nourishing Protein, both by Welleco is my preferred way to do all of that in less than five minutes during the day. I add two teaspoons of the Super Elixir to coconut water, shake, and drink. And whenever I want a quick, healthy snack I add a scoop of the Nourishing Protein to almond milk, shake, and drink. It couldn’t be easier. And that’s the only way I’m guaranteed to stick with something.

Vanilla Sugar

Vanilla sugar is simply granulated sugar infused with vanilla beans. It’s really easy to make, and it makes all your dessert recipes exponentially more delicious. Also when people see it in your kitchen or you give it as gifts, people think it’s much more impressive than it really is!

Simply pour the sugar into a mixing bowl (about 20-24 ounces). Split and scrape four vanilla beans into the sugar and mix until all of the beans are evenly dispersed. Pour the sugar into a container and store for about a week before using. I like to wait even longer, but a week is sufficient if you’re in a hurry.

Put it in your pies, your cobblers, your cookies, homemade whipped cream… The possibilities are endless.
