Vanilla sugar is simply granulated sugar infused with vanilla beans. It’s really easy to make, and it makes all your dessert recipes exponentially more delicious. Also when people see it in your kitchen or you give it as gifts, people think it’s much more impressive than it really is!
Simply pour the sugar into a mixing bowl (about 20-24 ounces). Split and scrape four vanilla beans into the sugar and mix until all of the beans are evenly dispersed. Pour the sugar into a container and store for about a week before using. I like to wait even longer, but a week is sufficient if you’re in a hurry.
Put it in your pies, your cobblers, your cookies, homemade whipped cream… The possibilities are endless.
